Memories: 4th of July 2019 in Nashville

Updated: Jul 18, 2020

2019, when we were happy and didn’t know... but the memories keep me going and one of them is 4th of July in Nashville.

Performances and set up

Nashville, known as the Music City, literally goes big when it comes to celebrations and 4th of July is not any less. The best celebrations are in downtown where you can enjoy live concerts with amazing artist! In 2019, everyone was waiting for Brett Eldredge’s performance!

The really great thing about the set up of this event is that the city has everyone distributed along the famous street of Broadway and by the side of the river Cumberland. So, if you wanted to enjoy more concerts you’d go to the end of Broadway where the stage is located. Meanwhile, if you want to have a better view of the fireworks, you'd get closer to the river. However, you can still enjoy the concert if you’re by the river because the city sets up a big screen streaming the live concert happening a couple blocks away from you! Isn’t that cool? So I was still able to watch Brett Eldredge, here’s a video!

Another option

There is another place where you can spend the day and end up watching the fireworks at downtown: General Jackson Showboat. Dinner, entertainment and privilege views of Downtown Nashville and the fireworks. Take a cruise on 4th of July to the Music City for a different experience. If it's not on this holiday, you will still enjoy this cruise!

Security and parking

Back on land, there was a lot of people and even though I was alone, I felt completely safe! There were security checks in all the streets that intersect with Broadway. These controls check your bags and if you had any metals on you (guns, knifes, etc.). So this a plus that I really liked!

Normally, parking in downtown is practically impossible so I bet it was horrible to find somewhere to park during this event. I went on the shuttle of a hotel in Nashville that dropped everyone off a couple blocks from Broadway, and got us back to the hotel at the same spot after the fireworks ended. I was curious about how did those that came using a Uber or Lift service went back to their houses or hotels. Well, although I had a terrible signal on my phone, I was able to see that a 15 min ride to my hotel from downtown would have been around $80! Crazy!

The 4th of July fireworks

I am going to be 100% honest: THE. BEST. FIREWORK. SHOW. I'VE. EVER. SEEN!

Before going, I read on the Nashville Music City website that their fireworks are the largest 4th of July firework show in the country and thought they were exaggerating. Well, I was wrong. Their fireworks are huge and so many that you have to be turning your head from left to right to see everything that is going on. It was sooo impressive! The fireworks were also in compass with Nashville's Symphonic band that sounded sooo amazing that gave me goosebumps.

2020 4th of July

This amazing event is not gonna be celebrated with the crowds but there are going to be many events that you can follow online! Here's Nashville proposal for 4th of July:

Enjoy today! Happy 4th! Stay safe!
